Bryan D. Pitts, JD, LLM.
After 12 years of working in a law firm setting with the typical "billable hour" structure, I realized that clients were hesitant to call and ask questions as they were worried about how much the single call would cost them. I felt this was not the best way to build a trusted relationship with a client.
I pride myself on sitting down with my clients to ensure that I understand the extent of their matter. Furthermore, when the time comes to execute documents, I make sure they understand the documents that they are signing rather than going home with a bunch of papers.
My focus with my clients tends to be in the areas of estate planning, asset protection planning, and tax planning, as well as estate and trust administration and decedent’s probate estate administration. When matters go outside my legal areas, I am the first to recommend working with an attorney in that area to obtain the best result.
I received my J.D. (cum laude) and LL.M. in taxation from the University of Illinois-Chicago School of Law. While in law school, I volunteered and managed the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program helping low-income individuals file their income tax returns and then externing with the IRS Office of Appeals. In college, I received my B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Prior to law school, I worked for a global technology company.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, children, and dog, coaching softball, attending music and sporting events around the city of Chicago, and visiting family and fishing in Wisconsin.
